The public download opens with the signed build
The code-signing certificate — the thing that makes the Windows install prompt read “ShortCut Linking, Inc.” instead of a warning — is in validation. Expected: late August 2026.
We won’t ship the public build unsigned. A privacy product that opens with a SmartScreen warning has already contradicted itself.
Until then, the beta is open to the first hundred, with the checksum published and the SmartScreen behaviour explained honestly.
